"Small is beautiful" The Belgian Semester, in collaboration with the JRC Ispra FotoCineClub (FCC), organise a photo competition that will run from 25 March - 1 May 2024.

Some key info:
The subject should be nature macro photography (fungi, plants, animals, all micro living things). Pictures with phones are most welcome!
Each participant can submit a maximum of three (3) pictures, ideally with a resolution of 300 dpi or more.
Each picture, accompanied by a legend, should be submitted through a separate email to [email protected] until 1 May at 23:59. Participants younger than 15 years by 1st of May can also express their interest to apply for the Best Young photographer award.
By submitting your pictures, you agree with these being used and shared on social media, and/or printed. The license form (see below) should be filled, signed and submitted with the pictures.
Voting will be open from 5 -15 May. Information on the voting procedure will be published early May in this page.
Winners of the competition will be announced online on 22 May (Biodiversity Day). The following awards will be given:
Public award: most voted one by the public
Jury award: selected by the jury, a group of selected members of the Belgian Semester and the FCC.
Best young photographer: selected by the Jury
A total of 10 pictures (winning pictures and the remaining most voted ones by the public) will be printed and exhibited in the JRC Ispra Cafeteria from 21 May to 31 May. Winning prizes will be given on Friday 24 May at the Cafeteria.
A photo competition will run from 10 March- 6 April 2023, as part of the Swedish semester events. Let Astrid Lindgren and her books inspire you, and participate with your photos representing one of 12 quotes. The quotes chosen are from her personally or are coming from her most famous books.

Participate by sending small versions (2MB) of the pictures to [email protected].
Each participant can send up to three contributions.
Photos may be colour or B&W, ideally they should have a resolution of 300dpi or more.
Voting will be open on the Swedish Semester page from 11-24 April.
There will be one prize for the most voted photo and one prize awarded by the Jury.
The twelve most voted photos (one per quote if possible) will be exhibited at the JRC Ispra Cafeteria from 2 May- 5 June.
